Bundaberg Blitz Simul with GM Timur Gareyev

Dec03
2019
Written by DCA

GM Timur Gareyev is a wonderful ambassador for Chess. On Friday night he and his students push-biked to “Grunske’s by the River” – a local Bundy seafood hotspot; then off to see the visiting Great Moscow Circus. Next morning it was a healthy start to the tournament by cooking breakfast for all the chess players hosted by the Charm City Motel. Karen McIntosh from Charm City remarked on the friendliness and positive energy that flowed from the chess group staying at the motel.

To finish a long hot 3 round day. Timur lectured on how he organises his mind for blindfold chess; and then played 3 local juniors in 10 minute blindfold.
