Tournament Information
The Gold Coast Open is the most prestigious and largest event held in Queensland on an annual basis. Started back in 1996 by Graeme Gardiner and the Gold Coast Chess Club, the event continues to attract strong fields each year with the addition of norm possibilities in 2018.

Premier Division
- Runs Thursday June 27 to Monday July 1
- Minimum rating of ACF 1700 or FIDE 1800
- Early Bird Entry fee (by May 31): $110
- Normal Entry fee (June 1 – June 26): $130
- No entries will be accepted on Thursday June 27
Major Division
- Runs Friday June 28 to Sunday June 30
- For players rated under 1800 ACF
- Early Bird Entry fee (by May 31): $75
- Normal Entry fee (June 1 – June 27): $85
- Late Entry fee (on day): $100
Minor Division
- Runs Saturday June 29 to Sunday June 30
- For players rated under 1200 ACF
- Early Bird Entry fee (by May 31): $65
- Normal Entry fee (June 1 – June 28): $75
- Late Entry fee (on day): $90
